You can try some of the Debian builds for it. You may encounter dependency hell but you might just be able to get it functioning. Start off with the etch builds and work your way up.

Well...I was thinking since it is a Windows game that whoever got it working had to do so using Wine...however, after researching the Wine site ( http://www.winehq.com ),in their AppDB, could only find 1 notation of anyone that tried (Feb09) and he didn't get it to work either...so if there are anymore that have it working under Ultimate Edition or Linux distro, then they haven't recorded it under testing and what has to be done to get it to work...best bet may be to try and contact the ones that got it to work in the forum and see if you can get any info from them...just a suggestion...

WTG Nick...and if you add 'suba game' in front of 'crossfire on ubuntu', you also find the guy over at suba that got it working and seemed to be willing to help someone in the forum here:
http://forum.subagames.com/redirect.php ... o=lastpost
He's running it on Intrepid too ;)

You could try it inside a virtual box with 3d enabled and 128 megs of video ram. The gpu requirements don't look that steep.
