Vmware workstation is a free trial, right? What is it 30 days? I might just give it a shot. I have XP in Virtual Box and it works O.K. How many games have you tried so far using it? I know it is maxed out at 128 megs of video ram. Just curious. I'm not much of a gamer but would like to know how it is improving.

I downloaded the vmware from their website.As for how its improving I have no idea sense this is my first time using it.But I like it.I haven't really played with it much to test other games.I really didn't have a reason too,the games I play run without it.

I use VMware Player to try out Linux distros and I like it too. That's why it was pissing me off that XP kept crashing during the install. And people complain about Linux-gimme a break!!!
p.s. I got the blue screen today on my XP box and just about dumped it for good. I had to go into safe mode and fix the problem. Sometimes it's just too much trouble for what it's worth.

I feel your pain ive had my inlaw's laptop for a week now.She gave to me to fix. She had not run any type of adware or virus scan sense i fixed it last time.....nine months ago.I use the same freebies that you had posted here in the forums,but she didn't know how to use them.Its her second pc she ever owned.Her first was my old IBM(overclock from 400 to 600 mhz ) which still works great with windows me.....least thats what she tells me. I haven't seen it for 3 years.Anyways after screwing around with her laptop i just decided to back up her important stuff and wipe it clean.I still have to load xp unless i find a linux program that is REALLY close to the kodac software she has.

oh yah, another reason i like wmware is that i can drag and drop from host to guest.Ive never been able to do that before in a virtual program.

It's not pain, just $#!%. It took me 5 minutes to fix but that is something I never have to do with nix(It either works or it doesn't).
Drag and drop definitely a nice feature. Virtual Box is O.K. but VMware is the bomb when it comes to visualization.
p.s. When I first installed XP on my new build it had an aneurysm. Could not find any of the drivers. Pop up windows where flying at me 10 at a time. Do you want Windows to find the driver this time or every time. How about %$#@ Off. I have the drivers on a disc or I can go to the mobo's website and get them myself if need be. I love when an operating system questions your decisions. How about you *&^% off. I paid for it and if I want to screw it up or burn it, I will............

holy crap.....she brought it back today damn this thing is ancient.Its the first pc i bought which was back in '98.Wanna take bets if the new kernel will work on it? If it doesn't I at least have a case for a mini atx mobo lol.

same board as mine.I have a complete pc with added mem,and sound card so i figure its worth 2 thousand dollors
