Kyriakos, So is it my understanding, that when you boot up windows. and start a torrent file the torrent stays active throughout your windows session? if that's the case, then Here are a few options:
wait a few minutes before restarting your computer, gives the router time to fully recognize that you are on another operating system that has the same mac address.
Remove and reinstall the torrent client/s. Also look for the option to configure the router to accept the port number as a relatively safe open port. ( this should be under one of the option tabs on the client you are using).
google your ISP to see if they participate in packet shaping ( they may be cutting you off or restricting your data flow due to too many connections to an IP addreess or too much data going out)
But, I would really try to get a direct hardline connection first to eliminate the wireless problem.
