How did you install flash and the codecs?? I used the included section of Ultimatix that came with 2.1, and they installed everything perfectly....then the first thing I did after installing them was to go to YOUTUBE...and play videos...all sound and video worked perfectly!

'i have trouble with you tube'
There is a .deb for 32 bit at Adobe''s website that worked not too long ago.
The 64 bit is another story.
You have to get the 64 bit tarball from Adobe, extract it and cp the .so file into your web browser plugin folder. Every release the rules change when it comes to Flash!!!

I have been doing that since forever. I just get the plugin from Adobe just in case the repo is down.

Well done :D

Was looking for that to post as well ;)

Thanks guys. I was driving myself crazy trying to get flash to work. I recently reinstalled 2.1 (tweaked myself into a corner), but I know I had flash working then. Anyway thanks again.

Hi
For information.
I used the following to get libflashplayer
wget http://downloadubuntusoftware.info/libflashplayer.so
This worked O.K.

sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.6/plugins/
Gave the message "/usr/lib/firefox-3.0.6/plugins/ does not exist"

I did a search cd /usr/lib/firefox-*/plugins/ and found firefox-3.0.8 was installed, I changed 3.0.6 to 3.0.8

sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.8/plugins/
This worked O.K.

No problem.
It was interesting to see that the DOS "*" wildcard "firefox.*" still work in searches.
I have not tried the "?" wildcard in a search
