Are you sure about compiz-fusion icon????? I am running x86, and it's there on my version...first on list under APPLICATIONS>SYSTEM TOOLS

deate,
You have 2.1 X86 and I think he is using 2.1 X64. My X64 has no Compiz Fusion Icon under Applications>System Tools. The only ocurance of "Compiz Fusion" on any menu in x64 is at System>Preferences>Compiz Settings Manager.
I have experienced the same senario with my 2.1 X64 on my Shop system (see my sig for system components). I am also having a minor problem getting 2.1 X64 to "keep" my Raid5 array definition and mount it on boot. So far, if I reboot, I have to re-assemble the array, and mount it manually. It works just fine after re-assembling and re-mounting. So far, I have not found a solution to these problems. FYI: This all works just fine in 1.7 x86, 1.8 x86 & x64, 1.9 x64, and 2.0 x64. Still looking for a solution.

I know Thee had a script here a long time ago for the Icon, I don't know if it would work for adding it to the 64 bit version, I'll see if I can find it...
I don't see it, but I'm sure I remember one, seems like I installed it a long time ago...before he started including it with the distro....I've been wrong before though

Texasmike,
What GPU driver are you using on your home box? It looks like I have the same video card but the same problem as your work box. I was thinking when I get home I will try and upgrade to the latest driver mentioned here earlier.

Scott,
I will reply from home with my xorg.conf settings and the version of the driver am using, later this evening - it is now 3:10PM Central Time. I usually get home around 5:30 to 6 PM, so may be an hour after that b4 I can reply...
BTW: That video card is sweet!

OK stanca,
after compiz stopped I typed compiz replace and I got:

superfly@superfly-desktop:~$ compiz replace
Checking for Xgl: not present.
No whitelisted driver found
aborting and using fallback: /usr/bin/metacity

Looks like a driver issue?

not so superfly now.

I guess it can be a driver problem.Wich nvidia driver have you installed? It was the recommended one?I'll try to install again the graphic driver but an older one, with one class at least.
I had same issues with Ultimate Edition 1.9 and it worked for me. <BREW>

Gent's you do realize xorg is soon to be no more. Actually I can tell you what you can not see yet. Next release do not get pissed off ;) Learn always...

Evolution, we all evolve. As a whole they are "trying" to make it windows, happy friendly. I will not put in my 2 cents.

Imagine this, I can not only make a change, I suppose make it right. I see error after error & not me doing so ;)

Let me be stupid at least for this eve.
