BluShark wrote:I want to ask a question about Ultimate Edition 2.1. I'm a too new user on linux i have to say. So i just build my new pc and i'm having a little problem. I installed n ASUS EN9600GT Graphic Card and i installed the x86 version. The system worked fine when the installation completed but when i tried to activate the "locked" drivers for the card i messed up everything. It gives me a msg that i haven't installed the power supply cables on the card and it gives my the old and nice Black&White screen to play around. It gave me two set of drivers to activate so the first time i activated the recommended ones but nothing. The second time i activated the other set but it got me the same result. I'm sure that the power cables are perfectly installed cause i checked a lot of times before i even plug the machine. So can any one help with this one?

And something more i have mistakenly installed the x86 version and i had a x64 CPU. I'm downloading the x64 version now. Do you think that this might be the problem?

I have dual 1650's, I will never buy ATI again, I do not blame AMD. I do however feel they made a bad decision in doing so. I am assuming that you also run ATI. I should not have said that Nvidia also make a card that Nix hates & I have personally fixed.

Another thing you may want to look at is the PSU itself, I will not get into volt as per rail etc. When you buy a PSU what you are "actually" paying for is stability within your system. Sure I can buy a 500 watt PSU for $20, I can also buy a 500 watt PSU for 10X that, I hope you can see where I am going with this.

My PSU is the shiznit and could if I wanted to waste $ handle 4 vid cards. I too learn. 1000 watt, it is no microwave... It is not the watt it is the amps & stable. I hope I have educated just 1 person, if so I have done my job. I also give kudos thanks, Ironman. Funny, I used to teach him how to overclock. Today I have no need to do so. When I ask my O/S, actually it is our O/S. None the less, it is done with the quickness.

Want to bench against me Ironman?

Sorry, for being cocky ;)

Go back a re-read the instructions, especially the part about not having much time(have your finger ready on the Esc key). All you are doing is adding VGA=pick a number to the end(which will load the vesa driver) of the boot kernel you do not want to go past there until you have added that.
It tells you on the screen what to do(e is edit etc.). I don't think I can explain it any simpler.

It will get worse before perceived as better. You can see things they can not yet see. Want to call me a few names? Please proceed. ;)

Actually even what you can see will change, hate me & thank me later.

You know I have not "Offically" released Ultamatix", I never see less then 50,000 ppl on that site in a day. I am looking to double that. Yes, I am stupid, why did I give ubuntusoftware away? How many sites do I own? Gave it away lets rethink I never gave anything away. A cool million would mean squat to me. Am I stupid? The ol lady seems to think so, it is not about her. I am sorry it about nix & end users. I will not sell out on you as they have. M$ has not bought a portion of nix, I will never sell out. It will not stop & then ask me what I did wrong.

I could have bought an island.

Sorry I missed going over some instructions,

I tried 3 different video cards, Why would there be a problem with the GPU when logging in with a user name and password, I guess that's what my question was, two nvidia cargs and one ati card.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry for you having to view what is coming, piss poor as far as what I know. I will leave it as that.

Ultamatix site sees the next to lowest traffic, Ultimate Edition site #1, want to talk hits or ppl? This forum 6K users, not getting into guest accts. Wow, is what most would think... I told you 7 sites right? I never sold out on you ;) This site the lowest traffic. Perhaps until tomorrow? I promise Ultamatix #1, question it? A triage & you can not see it yet ;)

Please, admin talk me out of it... I have a world to satisfy. Please talk me out of it. Perhaps I can see things you can not.

I just enjoyed condensed habenro this eve (jalopono a introduction), always wakes me up. I have watched grown men cry eating it. 250 in one bottle, dehydrated. I can eat raw all day long the stuff in a bottle almost caused me to lose my chunks. Salivated to the point I thought I would do so.

Should I market it? I am still alive ;) None the less with out a doubt the hottest thing I have ever enveloped.

It has been nothing short of close to a yr. since I updated Ultamatix site, I will rss feed it from both sites, what do you look as far as results? I bet it goes down. I may take an extra day before I put it online, before it goes offline.

Be glad you are a forum member. Wait until you see -7, Cannocial will be jealous. Mark my words as I enter Ubiquity & perfecion. What do you bet I give you an option not to use pulse audio. WiFi also comes to mind... Priority to me will be "options" & support.

Last time I checked, it is not my job to fix their issues... I know I have never done so right?

Sorry for being cocky, I earned my name...

Ok it worked after the replugging so it seems that i had messed up the power cables. Now one other think, i have some problems with the updates it give me 3 updates but i can't select the 2 of them and the third (pidgin upgrade) gives me that 404 is not found. From the first 2 i remember only the mplayer. I can't post an image atm cause i'm in the class. When i can i will upload one to see it.

First, you haven't told us exactly what you have done??? Have you put all 3 cards in trying to get it (OS) to load???? I'll say that the first thing that comes to my mind is that you have either an incorrect md5sum, or a bad burn of your DVD...Check your md5sum, verify to us that it is correct...then re-burn the DVD at nothing higher than 2X and try installation...

Origionally posted "by OCEAN11 on Wed Mar 04, 2009 5:22 pm

I have tried installing 2.1-x86 on a older system, Mboard Asus A7N8X-E, with a xp 2800 Barton cpu, Elsa Gloria II-Pro AGP, 2 gigs corsair ddr, pioneer dvd-burner, samsung dvd-burner, and for what reason I can't figure out what's up. I have installed 2.1 over three times, and when the install window comes up, I put a user name and password in the boxes, and after the install is done, re-boot, Welcome screen comes up, I put my user name and pw, and it says through the audio, Acess Denied. What can I do about this?
Sorry if I posted in wrong place.
Thanks for the help!"

In a anut shell, this was the origional question problem, and my md5sum's are perfect, I torrented both x86, x64 of 2.1, I let them seed for aprox 2 t o3 days, then I burned 1-dvd with a pc running Ultimate Edition 2.0-x86, and burned it at 2x, md5sum was exact match.

Tried installing, I thought I had hard drive failure, changed hard drive, tried re-installing 2.1-x86, same error, then I re-downloaded 2.1-x86 and made a burn with XP-Pro-SP3, went through, checked the md5sum, exact, went through the install, I input my user name and password and finished the install, went to boot, came up to the log-in screen, access denied. I tried changing three diiferent video cards after pc's mentioning of the os doesnt like the gpu, so I tried 3 different video cards, and same problem.

So I'm wondering what changing the video cards will do, with it not allowing me to inputting a user name and pw after I went through the install with it?

Tonight I'm changing motherboards, power supply, and giving it another try.

As I said before, load the vesa driver, boot, remove the previous drivers you installed with Synaptic and install the recommended video driver with Hardware Drivers and reboot. If you still have no joy then do a fresh install with the Nvidia gpu(1 only) and post back then before you do anything. Then we will walk you through it step by step!!!
