Never Run Root!!

Ok, now that the warning is out of the way, to run applications at root that deny you this capability, grab a hex editor and look for the bin you wish to run at root. Open it with the hex editor and search for geteuid (aka get User Identity) and replace with getppid (aka get parent process identity). Save, close the editor and run the program. This isn't 100% as their may be a conflict with certain programs in child process but it certainly works on VLC, Firefox, Chrome, and a few others I have needed this for.
