Wait wait wait

You're using debs, as in in compressed packages?

Why are you not using a package manager?

Yes, I had to use debs since not matter what command issued either apt or aptitude would dump old files. So if I went to install something I got an old version that conflicts and refuses to install! Real drag here!!!! I now have k3b functional and usable so is good. Pangs from this also include gambas3 so will work on when time permits! Still have not heard back from Frank Muriana, but did send him all the info. Have this other job sent me for a loop all day yesterday so no work on OS til this morning, then I have to leave for other job. Am doing a lot of juggling with everything!

Yes is the damnest thing when I have all updated repos in that OS, yet it is turning down updated versions for old versions that will not work! Very and I mean very very confusing!!!! That is why I had to force it all manually and download debs. Have to love that dpkg -i *.deb, least I know Linux does since that is how all these systems are built!!!

Right now am using apt-get to hopefully re-install gambas3 and put an end to all this! I still have to fix the shell theme the the cursor setting in gnome and some other settings. Loads of work to do! Really need this OS as both jobs really demand it! I can not afford to have current OS as it falters here and there since Gnome-Shell is at about 80%! Word to Wise: "Forget testing and Experimental Parts for Gnome-Desktop, Stick with PRESENT!" Otherwise current system would meet all demands and would be no need for this build!

Well is looking like am coming out of this with gambas3-examples not working of course just do not initiate aptitude -f install since will shred it! So am left with something I did not want to happen, again!!!! Am just getting wore out fighting this! I mean last week was peaches and cream, this week is sh-- on a shingle! Gets very frustrating and can totally understand why not many people want to build these OS's! Not super on gambas3-examples but I do not want the conflicts, either!

To be honest am beginning to think all Ubuntu systems have a conflict somewhere! Also am still tipped on the ignorance of having these files so separated. I mean if you have a program and it needs 50 dependencies shouldn't they be included???
