Dark Themes Anyone????

Postby BBOSAK2143 » Mon Jun 10, 2013 9:08 am

Most times themes are very light! Maybe some users love those bright screens and things just tearing their eyes up from the strain??? Personally, I like the darker themes and yes am a major and I mean major sucker for Gnome! Well seeing as the GTK+ has changed a bit new themes are coming in slowly for 3.8. Now, me am no genius to completely write one of them from scratch. I can however get a decent coloring scheme going and add it into an existing theme. For me it takes hours just to do that!!! Now am wondering what some others think of this scheme before I put some of these up. Remember these are dark themes! Coloring is used to make wording more visible for Ubuntu Software Center and most also cater to those of us that need help finding those trouble areas in programs. When coloring has more tones, most times is easier for our eyes to pick up these program discrepancies. Personally, this is one of the many reasons I love these dark types. Now I set out to make some nice appealing types for others. Would love an honest opinion on this one. This one is called Burgundy Suprise and of course comes with the matching top!Second one is called Green ooh theme. Kind of looks on the John Deere side! I know so far even the ole lady said "They look nice!" So think am going somewhere on this!

Thanks very much and for anyone interested I put a few up on gnome-look.org. Will probably fiddle with some more as I try to learn more about theming. Have some ideas and just hope I can materialize them and finally become some asset to Linux! So far am only a user. I really look forward to the day I can give back to Linux as it has given me!!! Also I never forget all that have helped me get to this point and always commend them on being the best humanity has to offer!!!

Way way to kind on that one!!! I really want to help develop programs to make it easier for everyone on Linux. Going to take some time as still need to improve on programming languages!!! I have thoroughly enjoyed using Linux since day one! People have class on Linux! Such great style, intelligence and something for everyone to admire!!! For instance take these themes. There are pages and pages that go into all looking so nice on the desktop! Is not a simple thing to comprehend. I am just barely scratching the surface to comprehend the brilliance that goes into the looks and style. The greatest part of it all is we have the choice on Linux to create these styles that are more pleasing to our eyes and function properly when hard at work! If I ever created a new OS, I would want to pattern it in the same fashion as Linux to allow users to use their creativity and genius! For me will probably never happen to create a totally new OS that is not Linux, so I am very content to enjoy that Linux is here!!!! Always thanks to Linus Torvalds for the best OS one can have. Always thanks to TheeMahn that shows us anything is possible and always keep making the best possible OS!!!! Those people are truly inspirational along with everyone here!!!!
