Yes I know I made a suggestion for this! Initial testing is looking very good for it! Works fast and efficiently can play videos in Windows, Linux or Mac via VLC! A nice feature with it is the 5 sec graphic countdown to let the user know program is initiating! Absolutely love it so far, but as have only gave it a 10 minutes test thus far, I can't give too much more information! So far is looking better than recordmydesktop(rmd) and give it an A+++!!!! So far is on the OS I am currently developing! Yes, it has come out of its coma!!!! I guess I make some real amateur mistakes!!!! Anyway once you click on Kazam it has the easiest interface I have seen. The multiple choice of fullscreen, multiple(multiple monitors), window seems to exceed the functions of rmd. I like RMD do not misunderstand this as has saved my neck many times!!! Still the added advantages and functions of Kazam seem to make it something I will treasure over RMD! See, I am just a College student and I have to study very hard online. Some of these exercises have audio! I need to have the sound to some of these lectures and what not! So the added function of being able to set it to record the sound, might just prove invaluable to me and many others in the same boat!!!! Also the ability that it is quicker and thus far saves video quicker and to a more universal format, is totally awesome!!!! Absolutely love it so far and just wondering if anyone else has given it a go? P.S Later on will get some picks up for my OS, still unamed til finished(Feb, March?) Is but a child, but think might just work! Still will remain here til is tested to perfection and ready!!!! Quick note to builder of UB. I did things wrong and is no error of workmanship on your part, my deepest apologies if anything I have written has offended you!

Although ive used RMD, Kazam is the blingy and polished brethren-- a true pro. But have yet to make anything with it yet..

Just tried and the size is a bit too large! Has to be some tweak. I mean 2 minutes of video produce 898 megs! A half hour recording would probably use my whole hard drive if not finish before that! Not good!!!! Made some boo boos here and there, so am afraid a delay is happening in progress! Did the Planet of the Apes and left the ISO inside the folder! Really have to work on my developer skills(if any?) Have to fix some lines up, as dummy me put the name in before is finished! Not a good move with Ubiquity!!! Little by little am reversing the damage before I continue assembly! Also notepad utility tried to install, muffed it! Change in installation from 12.04 to 12.10! If I would have known, would have made special arrangements for it!!! Right now size is close to 2 gigs and has a little to go! Most likely will weigh 3gigs or over! Love the Gnome desktop, looks great but once again needs some tweaks! My coloring is not totally correct yet! Is awesome as the upper bar in the window is taking the proper coloring. Is supposed to be black over brown. Is a hard window to show! Ultimate comes very close, but not quite. Libre Office 3.6.2 works perfect. Wine seems all there, but won't be able to test until finalized, since there won't be a connection til then! Program windows are absolutely perfecto!!!! Oh how I missed that perfect Gnome blend of colors!!!!! Anyway before I write a book here, a few pics to take a look at. Remember is what everyone calls alpha stage! Also thanks for getting me to this point!!! Would have taken me another 6 months without all your efforts!!!!

kazam dumps the file in a .avi format..
you could use a transcoder like handbrake to convert and compress the video to a lower bit rate..

RMD works nice and the file size is pretty small, but you require a stable crash-free environment..

in kazam goto preferences and see under screencast the video format to choose.....there are 2 other: h264/mp4 and vp8/webm
These might actually output a relatively small size after recording as they are both natively supported in youtube...webm is new and html5 friendly
for next gen browsers..

Will be checking into getting all the setting corrected, thanks bigtime!!! Also thanks as I guess I muffed it with newbie! Just have been through so many installs of OS's and when all that damage occurs, is usually format problem! Am going to have to go back a few steps on this OS! Made a bad mistake and it crossed kernel with mine! Was caused by changing the Ubuntu name! Software Center, Gnome, Blender, AMD graphics, and extended boot time are all effected by this and don't think I can reverse the damage, although will attempt to! Once it is back in range(properly installed!) can once again resume some tests, to insure users will have the easiest time possible! Am understanding why developers are upset with Gnome. If commands are not set properly, it won't work right! I just lack the total education I should have to attempt this, but still feel I can succeed if I just take my time with it!!! Am also hoping to get some feedback to see what students want! I am deadly serious on this whole matter! I mean every thing I have said!!! I am totally impressed by genius, it is the most exciting thing in the world to me! So maybe there is some selfishness behind this!!!! Just because I am not a genius, it does not make me despise them! I enjoy and am envious! So I am hoping with all I have learned to put it back to help others! One day someone can take the system I develop and improve on it so it really does do the right stuff!!! Yeah handbrake, definite asset will be installed better believe it!!! Anyway have to get back and check on some things, maybe will get things better off before next weekend! So far can't see this a reality til end of Feb. You hit the mark!!! Always right on the money, Pam!!!! Has taken me days and part of the nights to get information for all this! Yes am throwing in the towel today or taking a break is more like it! Is in much better shape, least it seems as no errors at all now! Libre Office is the right one now! Messed up sources last time and combining 3.5 in there! So they dumped the 3.6.2 on me instead of 3.6.4! Have to insure the right sources are in there or is devastating!!! I now know that for a fact!!! I never thought Linus was selfish. Just seems as he keeps developing and improving things it was for the good of everyone, which is a selfless act, correct? Same as TheeMahn he busts it and makes the best OS around!!! I just hope I can make some impact as to help keep these brilliant people and ideas being produced! Is just such a beautiful thing as time gets saved and so many people can actually enjoy their computer!!! For years I dreaded it at times! Ultimate has ended that! So I will continue to produce my thank you system to all those beautiful young minds! You better believe it will be dedicated to the entire staff here!!! Without Ultimate it would have taken me at least another year to get as close as I am today! You and everyone here deserve the credit, not me!!!! Hope you have a perfect day forever as I really appreciate all your feedback and help is the greatest!!!

Likewise! She's a little tipped at all the time am spending and thought it was an assignment for school! Told her my intentions and I think she sees the point so am very happy on that fact! Hopefully in the next few days will button it up and be done with it! Will then load and hopefully have some more time as also want to find out more about PCSX-2. Yes have this Final Fantasy XII would like to try if I can ever get the coordination up for it! Loved FF7 was a ball(back in the late 90's!). Guess my age shows on that one!!! Have Playstation to thank for my entry in to this computer world! No longer a major gamer as this stuff is much more intriguing but still want to make sure others can enjoy! Am a little shocked on all the tiny little bits and pieces that were not included in some of these packages! Been calling it batteries not included.(Jethro Tull's song is perfect for how I feel at this moment!) So when using this outside repos, they seem to just not include everything! I wanted to understand the difference between TheeMahn's and the rest of the Linux clan! TheeMahns repo is killer awesome! The rest is in need of assistance! Without using TheeMahn's repo, you wind up spending another couple days on this stuff!!!! Next one will use his and will be even more worthy! Will also learn about WIndow managers. There has to be a common ground for them, instead of agonizing defeats we are plagued with!!! Anyway really appreciate your words and I always hope the same for you and everyone here!!!! Back to the chores and picking the rest of the pieces up! This time blender works!!!
