Just restored an old Compaq with a I486-DX4x100 CPU which wsa the 1st server used as my ISP server in the 1st ISP service in my county back in 1984.
Loaded WIN98SE and it runs perfectly! I'll be installing all my old flight games such as "Aces Over Europe" and several of the Jane's Combat Sims. Old PCs are great for all the older games and programs that you can't find newer versions of for today's OSs.
I even found 2 complete sets of Thrustmaster "HOTAS" Joystick/Throttle/Rudder Pedals for those filght games!! I had forgotten just how much fun these old games could be!
One of my Grandsons is in "Hog Heaven" 'cause he just loves the old Combat Flight games. Now I'll have to find and restore another one, so I can use it!
It is amazing how much could be done with that old hardware - This PC was one of two 486-DX4100MHz units that were the Primary and Secondary DNS servers for my ISP business (MCIA.COM) - they did it all - Internet Access, Web Hosting, Email accounts, etc., for over 3000 users and running BSDI 4.1 by the time I sold the company.
