DistroWatch Page Hit Ranking

Postby Micro » Wed Dec 05, 2012 1:36 pm

I do realize that not everyone uses Distrowatch as a central point for Linux info about distributions. But the fact is Distrowatch's main index page is viewed by about 130,000 - 140,000 visitors each working day and 110,000 - 120,000 visitors on weekends. Their statistics are generated by the number of times a distribution page on DistroWatch.com was accessed each day. I know ive posted my frustration about this before. And It really does bother me to see Ultimate Edition not where it's suppose to be. I will not mock other Distro's as I do realize in general that people are followers. So i guess what I really want to say is that It's time to do something about it. Why? Because I do believe that Ultimate Edition deserves to be properly represented. I've already put out the word to several people I know, with direction on how to show their support as an Ultimate Edition user, in relation to Distrowatch. I just hope that we all can do the same respectfully...

With you a 100% and will help whenever needed! Is a great home and more news and info should be available to those that seek it! People have different likes with an OS, I guess! The main reason Linux is such a great choice! Although I refuse to leave Ultimate, I still appreciate every distribution out there. It gives a chance for those of us with less knowledge(as myself) to learn more makings of an Operating system! Some times is a rut some of us dig when we start using computers. We start out on the most common OS and don't understand there are many others out there. We get comfortable and think it is the only way! Sure now is easy as have been through dozens of OS's but my first venture leaving you know what, I was scared and thought it would never work! Glad I was brave enough to try and keep going which finally led me to Ultimate. Others find solstice in other distributions as they also have become "comfortable" with the particular system they are using. Why Ultimate 3.5 has not been placed on DistroWatch has to be the choice of the developer. TheeMahn must have his other system close to done and ready to launch. You know him, couldn't stop him for nothing in this world!!!! Bless him for that!!!! Great person and enjoy reading his words all the time! Seems very admirable, honorable and all the best qualities we all need in people! 3.4 was the first for me and will say is like comparing a 2012 Challenger to a model T ford with most other systems! Is the best of advancements have seen so far. I often tell others of it, but most seem scared to give it a whirl or they think will be backwards due to being misinformed. I just let them know is a great system, tell them where it is and hope one day they will give it a try and learn what real computing is about! Still if need be will do anything to help. I love Ultimate and am proud of it, no shame at all over here!!!! Only enjoyment on the functionality part!!!!!!!

Loyalty goes a long way BBOSAK2143. I know that i am grateful for all Ultimate Edition team does. One of the main reasons I offer my time. This is why I want to get Ultimate Edition users to goto Distrowatch and access Ultimate Edition home page. What better way to show your support. It's really suprising not to see an uproar in our community about these standings...

Soon as I read what you said went to DistroWatch and clicked on it ASAP! Plan to write a little post in the other Linux forum(name escapes me now) soon as I get another email. All things going on, some things kind of escape my memory! Tough semester! Owe my successes in school to Ultimate due to how quick many tasks have been accomplished! So yes am going to remain very loyal to Ultimate as has done me a great service with its responsiveness and performance! Forum has also helped me maintain a better perspective due to its great members! Lets me blow off a little steam and become more cool headed for important situations! So yes I have a real deep deep respect and gratitude for that!!!! Will continue to thank everyone here and only beg for one thing! Please never change your great attitudes and don't ever change they way you are!!!!

Thanks for starting the itch Micro..

Its not all about being the greatest ......People must know and recognize Ultimate Edition and BlackOpal....

From now on will do my best to promote it.

All the greatest and worthwhile things disappear into vanity and it shall not happen here.
