Running 2.9 Ultimate Edition and I noticed a distinct difference in Compiz effects between the live cd and after I installed Quite frankly I`m surprised I opened Compiz Settings Manager in both live and installed versions and notice quite a number of effects are not the same. Specifically the wndows or menus open or close. The animation is not dramatic you might say I also noticed some sort of fire effect on the live cd that is not there after I installed Not only that when I check the effects that are not the same as on the live cd they don`t remained check when I start my pc. What attracted me to this wonderful distro was the out of the box use of Compiz in some interesting ways. Anyone else have this problem?.
I also seem to have no luck in changing some of the window effects such as exploding windows Make the change, resart compiz and nothing happens Pretty frustrating. Not a real expert in using compiz but would like to learn Thanks in advance for any comments.

The effects of eye candy will only engage via 3D graphics drivers and open GL drivers.

These are generally always disabled in live unless supported via kernel.

No settings changed other then wifi will be seen in the installed version. Any changes made in live being that it is a temp environment are lost once you restart.

About the only time I ever see eye candy work in live are with Intel GPU,s where there drivers are built into the kernel.

Even then all settings must be set once installed. Settings from live are not and can not be carried over.
