I tried many animated skydomes but for most of them I can't have a clear background despite I used equirectangular panoramas. What's the trick? And how can I have a smaller sphere? :?:

Play with the "Aspect Ratio" of the sphere in the tab "Deformation" on the "Enable Cube Reflection and Deformation" menu. The values go from 0.0000 (the most oval shape) to 1.0000 (a perfect shpere).
You may also go to 'Reflection" tab, enable reflection and play with the different reflection modes.
That's what I did until I've found the look I wanted

Check the colors settings of the reflection, I've made them all transparent.
The sharpness of the picture has something to do with the quality of the image you're using, I've used one of the default space pics that are in the wallpapers, but you could take whatever you want, I think there are resolutions settings on the skydome too.

Nice.. But the main problem might be different... Look in properties of the image you're loading in skydome and post me the dimensions and resolution + what is you screen, meaning flat or wide?

OK folks, I am going to upload now some skydome images, including one from the screencast (some of them I created myself), 12 pc. to start, and some more later on...
In future like in a week or two (cause busy now with setting-up a studio for a friend of mine) wanna start to create skydomes from any images you want (of course you'll have to send me your pic., i'll provide you with instructions).
<BREW> Cheer Up <BREW>

PS: Note I named this forum topic "Eyecandy Uploads", just a reminder that you should also upload nice stuff not only download, thanks <BREW>
