I'm sorry it didn't help you, perhaps you can try to download and install the last Ultimate Edition 2.1 ? It's based on 8.10 and perhaps it can solve your problem.

That´s the problem!
8.10 doesn´t install no matter what. Even alternate. I already tried so many times to install 8.10, every possible way, it always freezes at lauch. But 8.04 installs and works fine. I guess may be my hardware, I don´t know, but i know many people with the same problem. I just don´r feel like to go all over it again. It´s just the matter of going online, and all the rest would be fine. Once configured, burn my own distro, and voilá!
But here I am, still waiting to get rid of windows.
