Sound problems

Postby berry9 » Wed Oct 01, 2008 10:24 pm

Hi, I'm not totally new to linux or ubuntu, but I'm still learning. I'm have a problem with my Sound not playing after I installed 1.8. I first installed 1.8 and loved it everything worked fine and I used it for a couple of weeks. I decided to install 1.9 and see the difference and had lots of problems, so I decided to go back to 1.8. After I reinstalled 1.8 I noticed that my sound didn't work. After some investigation and fiddling around with ASLA mixer and my sound cards I got the sound working somewhat. The problem is that the sound only works when I test the sound in the sound properties window, and when I play music and stuff through media players. But when I try listening to any sound online such as youtube or pandora ect. it doesn't work. Also if I download a song with limewire or frostwire it won't play the sound in the programs player, but if I open up the file it will play. Any suggestions. I already tried reinstalling adobe flash player.
