Well it turns out the solution didn't work in my particular case, but I need to get the driver removed from the blacklist so that it will start automatically again. Yesterday was my first day using Ubuntu by the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
usually things are blacklisted in the modprobe file. You can view and edit the blacklist section of this file with the command
- Code: Select all
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
usually, there is a line that says
- Code: Select all
blacklist *module*
you can simply comment it out by changing it to
- Code: Select all
# blacklist *module*
with a # sign, and you can remove it if you want it blacklisted again. to blacklist an item, just add a blacklist line in the format above.
