Repo problem...Resolved!!

Postby TexasMike » Thu Aug 28, 2008 10:43 am

Hello all,
I encountered a problem this morning when running the Updates. When I first opened the system, I had several Updates waiting to be installed, which I installed without incident. This required a Reboot. After Reboot, there were 20 more updates. When I tried to install these updates, I got the following "Repo" error:

W: Failed to fetch http://mirror.imbrandon.com/ubuntu/pool ... _amd64.deb
404 Not Found

There were 20 of these errors, with the difference being the file names and preceding directory. It appears that http://mirror.imbrandon.com... is not responding. I've not had this error before, so I am curious about this one. By the way, none of the 20 updates available after the Reboot were installed, as they all were from http://mirror.imbrandon.com...

Anyone else experiencing this error...??

Not with that particular repo, but with the repos I'm using I've had the 404 error a few times...but then it clears up...I've just been handing it off as a timeout or sys busy prob...

Saddletramp,
I am not sure what that Repo is for, but wonder if there is a different one I could use instead. My problem is consistent, daily, and non-changing. I get the same 20 updates everyday, and they fail everyday. I.ll try to list what it looking for, maybe this will give someone an idea about how to cure the problem...

List: Cervisia, kdeartwork-emoticons, kdebase-bin, kdebase-bin-kde3, kdelibs-data, kdelibs4c2a, kfiltereplace, kghostview, klinkstatus, kolourpaint, komander, kompare, konsole, kopete, ksnapshot, kwifimanager, kxsldbg, libcvsservice0, quanta, quanta-data.

I do not have this problem on my home system running Ultimate Edition 1.8 X64, same as this system (see my sig below for more details on these two systems' hardware, this one is the "Shop" system).

Re: Repo problem...SOLVED!!

Postby TexasMike » Fri Aug 29, 2008 11:24 am

Hello all,
I finally fixed this problem by re-setting the Reop as indicated in this post: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=1006 .

Don't know how it got changed to that other "Repo", as I made this same change back in June 2008, just after the Ultimate Edition 1.8 X64 install.....

Thanks to all who replied....
