Intel Wireless

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.8

Intel Wireless

Postby Shawnm14 » Wed Aug 27, 2008 3:42 pm

I'm running an HP Pavilion DV6000 with integrated Intel Pro/Wireless (3945ABG) that hasn't worked since upgrading to Ultimate Edition 1.8 - it worked flawlessly on 1.7

I can pick up broadcasted SSID's but just cannot connect to anything.

Any assistance anyone can offer restoring wireless would be greatly appreciated.

thank you,
Shawnm14

thank you,

i have hp lap too, same wireless, same os... it all works
it may be a problem with not having enough ip addresses open on your router, because in most cases if you can see the ssid's then you can connect...

try this but be sure to disable the unsupported backports when you're done!

It doesn't matter if I'm at home (w/a 50 address DHCP pool and only 3 clients), my neighbors unsecured network or at Starbucks. I can pick up the broadcast ID's, but just cannot connect to any of them. My environment prompts and prompts for my key, and I've even went as far as pasting it in to make sure I wasn't messing it up with no success.

no prob, glad it worked for you, i can quote theemahn as saying (back in the 1.4 days)
I know it really takes the wow out of a linux distro when your wireless doesn't work
i totally agree with that, and since some wireless cards don't work out of the box, we are here to help. ;)
