Yep...bigger difference than I thought there would be...ok Zynn...this is totally your ball now...I don't have dual monitors, but you're into this setup way ahead of me...I'm learning about this as we go from what I read in various places...here's what I would do...FIRST, backup the xorg.conf file you're using now (Twinview), add .911 at the end or something...experiment between the settings in the "separate X screen" xorg file and the Twinview file you're using now...if you know the settings that are particular to "separate X screen" alone, don't try those...use the more common settings that are about the same between the 2...then see if that will fix the "slice" problem...did I get this across without getting it confusing?? :D 8-)

The only thing that really stands out to me is that under the section "screen" on your dual X setup is that you have an option in there:
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"
and on your twinview you don't. Have you tried adding this to your xorg in the twinview setup?
Once again, as Saddle has recomended... back up your xorg.conf file to something like:
Code: Select all
sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf_backup

If you get stuck without video you can get your way to a command prompt and just enter:
Code: Select all
sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf_backup /etc/X11/xorg.conf
