Terminal not letting me enter password.

I'm trying to follow the instructions on setting up yahoo messenger from the following post. viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1276&p=11836&hilit=yahoo+messenger&sid=1820965e182e1959c49e4a3cdb23f662#p11836

However, when it asks for my password, I attempt to type it and it wont let me...it just stays as a blinking cursor...any idea as to why and what I can do to fix this? Thanks.

If it's giving you to much trouble, it might be easier to use Pidgin Internet Messenger or Kopote they're both fairly easy to setup and are included in the default install. Either one would be a good way to quickly be messaging.

also, if you mean typing in your password for
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg -i
the file, then you can just redownload it and save it to your desktop and then double click it to install, install package, type password in box, let it go.

Yahoo messenger for linux is under-powered, try using GYachE: http://gyachi.sourceforge.net/download.shtml
It has support for webcam and stuff, thats the main reason it got it instead of trying to find the yahoo messenger for linux.
