hi all, now i'm using acer 4530 new acer product upgrade from acer 4520 ... when i try to install it, setup system can't run, and then come out some message, ... any body try this before (i mean install Ultimate Edition 1.8 into Acer Aspire 4530) ? thx

Howdy 7...what's the error msg you're getting (try to be exact as possible) and are you installing from a DVD that you got a successful install from before ?? System specs would be good too...Thanks

actually i use acer aspire 4520 before, and then working properlly from vga until wifi ...
now, i upgrade my nitebook from acer 4520 to 4530 with spec like this :

AMD Turion X2 64 Dual Core mobile technology RM70 (2.0Ghz 1MB L2 Cache)
Nvidia GeForece 9100M G upto 512MB
2GB RAM DDR2
160GB HDD
Atheros wifi (same like Acer Aspire 4520)
Bluetooths

when i boot up using DVD Ultimate Edition 1.8, after loading the files, like a terminal screen appear and then got message "type help for listing internal command (i think like this)"

when i type help, it come out all of linux (ubuntu command like : ls chmod mkdir and etc)

yeah, i know another distro can install into acer aspire 4530 but, i like Ultimate edition , i love it so much .. hahaha ... i'm not expert at ubuntu ..but ... i like it . i hope ultimate edition 1.9 can solved my problems .. thx ubuntu / developer / master Ultimate edition

So the LiveDVD doesn't boot up all the way??? Sounds like a bad burn...can you try downloading Ultimate Edition again and reburning?? Be sure to check the md5sum first, then burn it at 2x or no faster than 4x...

i dont think so my dvd bad burn, b'cause i use same dvd to install acer 4520, its ok, working fine ...
and than this dvd i burn it using low speed burn ... thx

note : after this post maybe i cannot reply again, b'cause i wanna go back to my house first (now i'm still at my office) thank you very much ... tommorow i will continue my post ...

Ok...while it's booting up in 1.8 (do you have a dual boot setup with another OS??), do you see the system loading like you do when booting up in 'recovery'??

yeah, i'm using winxp too, but this no problem, before that i'm using acer aspire 4520 and then using xp too in same partition, its ok - working fine, in acer aspire 4530 - when i boot it using Ultimate Edition 1.8, it appear "busybox message and bla bla bla"

ahh... busybox.... i think it was cowboy who resolved this issue and he had an acer too...
