So Impressed!

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.8

So Impressed!

Postby blacksheep » Sun Jul 27, 2008 2:59 am

I just recently caught wind of this build of Ubuntu and I have to tell you how impressed I am with it. The games the hardware support for every thing but my sound card. This is a stable build I love it. Going to finish evaluating it this weekend. But I am 99% sure this is my new operating system. Donations will be coming soon from me and I hope once I talk with my company from them too :)

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

I currently have a creative sound blaster X-Fi Fatality Pro. I got the driver but the install just keeps failing, on 64 bit and 32 bit builds.

Don't take donations well I guess that is cool with me save me money :)

How are you trying to install it (.bin file, compiled source, or what?; with GUI or Terminal?) .. and would that be XtremeGamers or Titanium ?? ...just in case the drivers are somehow different :) 8-)

I got this driver from creative XFiDrv_Linux_US-1.18.tar.bz2 and followed the instructions but the driver always fails to install. I just tried all of the opensound drivers those also fail. Maybe I am doomed to no sound :)

I haven't really honestly tried to fix it but when I get some time I need to get it added.

Thanks

Ok then, I'm still shaky at compiling source myself, but I'm sure someone will be along that can help you with that .tar pkg install...
