Hi

I am excited about Ultimate Gamers Edition

Theeman, a suggestion,

Why dont you rather create an Ulitmate gamers add-on disc instead of a separate OS. This way you will be able to cram more games on it (the full 4 Gig), and not worry about the space of OS.

Then the users can also choose what games they want to install, if a certain type of game is not your style.

I like the add-on idea, that way you can have as mush games as posible.
on 1 or more dvds.

It is on there and building... I also added the new nexuiz, I hope you appreciate it what I had to write to make it happen.

Just you wait, I will make automatix look like a joke, I give them credit :)

I will not sell out like they did...
I have had $9000+ hosting bills for 1 month and not sold out... They sold out for 10 grand, pioneer nix at least they do stick with it. I know Arnie personally. GPL 2.0 takes good care of me, I hate to take software already written and fix it... I have a "physical" notepad that I go through as I fix all. When I am done not a candle in the wind. Will be integrated in all Ultimate Edition's when I am done and not until then. Not script driven but version checking / debian based. I may also do the same for themes, sit tight for now. You are credited on that list ;)

This much I bet the deb gets downloaded more then the ISO, do the math, of all threads on this forum #1 viewed after you take away global? You are an admin you can see it right? Think of it this way, Usplash maker search it in google #1 is where? This is the beginning to an end. Wait and see where this goes.

I have seen millions of hits in 1 day where is this going to take me? Sorry, I want be able to talk to the John Q. Public, but will always speak to my admin.

HI All!
I'm a True Blue Newb so feel free to shoot me if I break a protocol or ask a stupid question.

I Just installed Ultimate 1.8, then hit the upgrade to the Gamers Edition. The load went well until Enemy Territory came in. The upgrade apparently likes that game a lot, because it wouldn't go forward and prompted me to start start the game. I started it, thinking it would let me out after a first run, but no. I couldn't get out of the game screen without exiting the game. Which stopped the terminal and the ongoing install. The terminal said to hit enter and close it out, so I did. This canceled the installation of Enemy Territory and then restarted that same installation. After going through round 2 of the above, Tremulous started downloading, but at about 15 KB/s. Not a good sign since I'm on a cable.

So what do you think? Will the rest of install crawl through ok? (even if it does take a few years) Or have I crippled the install it would be better to abort and start over?

Thanks for your insights...

the gamers choice in ultimate edition has not been updated since 1.7, therefore the games are outdated from the repositories, and the process will not complete. You can download ultimate gamers when it comes out to get all of the games.

Are you using 32 or 64 ultimate? I have installed et in 32 from upgrade and it worked no problem. I also installed it on 64 bit but the "how to" was on another site re installing 32 bit games on ubuntu 64. That worked fine as well.
