Ok, first was
Q. "Have you tried selecting "Safe Graphics Mode" when running the liveDVD?? Then try to install ??"
A. Sure did. It did exactly the same thing just with lower resolution. Also considered that it may be needing a proprietary video driver, alas Hardy is running on it and is NOT using any proprietary drivers.

Q. "Just jumping in for A sec here. Is that laptop 32 bit? and are you trying to install 64 bit? I briefly read this topic and thought I'd ask which version your trying to install and what cpu your running in your laptop?"
A. This laptop was manufactured at least a good 5 years ago (more like 6-8) so I am pretty sure it's 32 bit.
I am using the 32 bit liveDVD for the install on it. Not sure which of my 15+ drives has the specs. PDF file for it but this is all I know about the CPU. Nothing I've seen would lead me to even consider it for 64 bit.
Processor: AMD Athlon 4 (1.2 GHz); RAM installed: 512 MB SDRAM
Q. "One more thought to run by you..a few versions back burned a DVD..everything checked out but something was amiss in the install..reburned another DVD..the problem I was having went away..just a little food for the thought...
You probably
know this but have to say it anyways burn your DVD at the lowest speed ..."
A. I think I burned it at 4x. There is one lower a 2.4x so I'll try burning another and using that and see if it helps.
Last was "-another thing, I don't know for sure if TheeMahn used Reconstructor with this release or not, but there was an issue with the MD5 and Hardy I believe. But, if he did it by hand like he did with 64-bit, it shouldn't be an issue."
I wont swear to it but I think I read somewhere here that TheeMahn did both of the 1.8 versions by hand.
Thanks for the input. I have it ready to start burning a new DVD at 2.4x so I'll give that a shot now.
