Hey, cowboy, I don't have 1.8, but is there a start up manager in 1.8? If there is, that might where the solution lies, as it drove me nuts in 1.7, till I got it set in start up manager....just a thought...

okay ive been searching for hrs and cant find any in depth info on that monitor. not even a manual. it also appears that company when out of business (went bankrupt) so cant get any help there either.

however we may still have a chance of fixing this. a few questions first.

what is your video card? have you tried the proprietary drivers for it? (thsi only pertains to certain ati & nvidia cards though.

have you used any older versions of either Ultimate Edition or ubuntu? im thinking pror to Ultimate Edition 1.8 (1.7 1.6 ect) or in the case of ubuntu prior to hardy (7.10 (hardy), 7.04 (fiesty fawn) ect). if so did you monitor work fine there?

im only asking about the use of the prior versions because we might be able to get away with using an older version xrog.conf (this is the display config file).

get back to me on these questions and ill see what our next course of action should be.
