Problem with boot after install 3.5.2

Postby LordDrakula » Mon Oct 28, 2013 7:07 pm

I have installed Ultimate 3.5.2 from USB1 and USB2 and DVD and I have the same problem after every installation.

After restart I get a message :

[2.343208] Kernel panic-not syncing:VFS:unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

After reset I get grub menu but the choices are :

If I choose first option I get the message again :

[2.343208] Kernel panic-not syncing:VFS:unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

If I go under option three "Previous Linux versions" and choose first option than Ultimate Edition loads up but as version 3.5.1

If I go under Sysinfo I get that :

So it is a Ultimate Edition 3.5.2 but kernel is 3.8.0-25

So my question is :

Is there a bug and how can I solve this so that I don't have to go allways under option 3 but I would like to start from option 1

and

why is there in option 1 kernel 3.8.0-32 and under option 3 kernel that boots up version 3.8.0-25 ?

Oh and there are no previous versions of linux on the HDD because I have deleted all and formated HDD as one partition ext2 - 320 GB.

so how can there be an option "Previous Linux versions"?

OK. I did it.

Downloaded new image from sourceforge, made USB live from that image, formated HDD to ext4 and install it. I have left those 2 boxes unticked on start of the installation and that's it. :D

It's working and it's beautifull !!! :vil2_viking

Thanks for the great work you are doing with linux guys.

After 15 years I have finaly decided to completly delete windows from the system. No more dual boot ;)
