3.5 Disappointing!!!

I have used all versions of Ultimate Edition, but I find this one too buggy and broken. I wonder why you choose to use an old LTS version of Ubuntu...and I disagree of making KDE the default desktop environment; as such all GTK themes follow the darkish colour everywhere...The Unity keeps freezing, Compiz keeps crashing,,,my sound system keeps on 'explosing' when on idle, when playing music, and while switching to other windows, the playback just stops.

I know it is not recommend to do an system update, but why can't you just DISABLE the annoying update which is distracting, and there are many applets and applications which use up networking resources,,some applications never show up in Unity and will crash on others,,,

After updating JUST the applications, I notice my internet would not work in any browser...

Here is my personal rating for 3.5:
LOOK : 4/5
USABILITY : 2/5 (Some text are not just visible and cause eye strain)
MAINTABILITY : 1/5 (updates crash the system and some apps like skype would require updated libraries)
FEATURES : 5/5
SUPPORT : 3.5/5
PERFORMANCE : 3.5/5 (too many crash reports and annoying useless app running in the background)

Seriously I feel like escaping Windows 8 and getting down to a more like a $#!% of Linux....very disappointing!!!
P/S: It took me one week to download the ISO,,,that's why I am disappointed...

WAIT....some websites like FACEBOOK and YOUTUBE are NOT loading in all Linux distors...so it is not Ultimate Edition at fault!

You should try Ultimate Edition 3.4 lite, it is not with KDE. It has Mate as it's base and is less convoluted. I like KDE and KDE can totally change GTK, especially with qtcurve but I don't really think it works very well with 3.5. Wrong Window Manager, etc...

When 3.5 came out..like a year ago, 12.04 LTS was the most current version.

Anywho..not so concerned about all that..

But why are you not getting Facebook and Youtube and what browser are you using?

Also, where did you download the .iso and was it 3.5 or 3.5.1?

Actually, after a couple weeks, I am liking 3.5, not as much as 2.6.3, but it's growing on me... Actually liking XFCE a lot!

Oh good, someone else already started the thread. I registered an account on this forum for the sole purpose of stating Ultimate Edition 3.5 is very faulty. KDE is a good thing in theory, but in this instance it was probably not the best choice for default.

I currently have six laptops - three Thinkpads of various vintages, two Toshibas and an old Dell (any of which may change at any given moment... I don't keep most computers long) - and Ultimate Edition 3.5 doesn't run well on any of them. The graphics are solid, the programs all run as their makers intended, but the UI keeps breaking down in most interesting ways, usually right after installing.

On one install Ultimate Edition refused to shut down. I tried multiple ways - power button, accessing shutdown through the application menu, the handy power button in the top right corner, even "reboot" in terminal, but though I could click/type all these ways, Ultimate Edition would just keep running as if nothing happened. This was the most memorable glitch, but every fresh install had its different ways of tripping me up.

Fortunately I found Xanayoshi's recommendation earlier in this thread, and one of my computers is happily running Ultimate Edition 3.4 lite. FINALLY I have Compiz back! I have missed it so much since Mint discontinued it. It is very handy for wowing people who know nothing of Linux.
