3.5.1 on Sourceforge But..

Now that Ultimate Edition 3.5.1 is on sourceforge I would hope to be able to download it, expecially since there are no other downloaders as of the moment of writing, but no. The sourceforge excuse for a download service is as nonexisent as ever.

Never had a decent download from sourceforge in the two years I've been following Ultimate Edition. And I could believe one ISP fluffing up but I'm on my third in four years so it seems the answer to that problem lies elsewhere. And the problem is the same whatever operating system I use. I reckon sourceforge is limiting bandwidth for this corner of the globe.

Gentlemen, I have not announced it on main. It takes sourceforge typically 4 hours to mirror a iso once again typically by average 3 gb in size. I unloaded 16 gb of isos on them in less then 30 min. Please be patient. Worldwide distribution is coming. Please account for the petabytes of traffic they take off my shoulders.

Ultimate Edition at last check has been downloaded 1.5 million times. Lets do some math 1.5 million at a low rate of 2 gb equals how many petabytes? I assure you more then double that.

Unlimited traffic does not exist. Trust me I have tried even dedicated does not exist in an unlimited flavor. Want me to pay $300 a month for one server? It has become a literal hand full to maintain bandwidth for the donors.

You have 0 clue how many ppl have regged at the donors site looking for a free meal. I set that site up to be nice and give back to those that have donated. Things keep going as they are, will have to move it to another cloud or shut it down.

Thanks for the offer but it is no longer necessary. I left my laptop downloading over night at something like 70kbs and actually got the full download after about 11 hours. Nothing like the blistering velocities you and others achieved and possibly the third attempt of about thirty during the last two years to download from sourceforge which actually completed.

This problem isn't just with Ultimate Edition. I tried to download a pdf file the other day and sourceforge gave an eta of twenty odd minutes and a different downloader took about twenty seconds. There have been many other such examples.

Acaster, all direct downloads for large files suck. That's when torrents come in. Ultimate Edition 3.5.1 is not yet announced...so it might take some time. You are not alone.

By default a mirror is selected. Did you see the one closest to you being selected.. ? Else you could choose one.

Is this still for donors only.. I donated almost a month ago, sent Theeman a email with no response.. I sent him my donors info but my inbox here on the site, says one was never sent. What gives..
