Make sure your screensaver is off, and check your power management settings..if that doesn't work..
Open a terminal window and enter the following command:
xset q
if the output has a section like this:
Screen Saver:
prefer blanking: yes allow exposures: yes
timeout: 600 cycle: 600
Just run the following command:
xset s 0 0
Then add to startup, Go to Menu>Applications>Preferences>Startup Applications-Click the 'Add' button
command field type in xset s 0 0 and close the box by clicking 'Add'.
