No not necessarily, you may not need to blacklist.
If you keep it straightforward, the prop drivers will override the nouveau, like ryanvade said.

update and upgrade are 2 different things.
Are you using Ultimate Edition 3.4 or Ultimate Edition 3.4 lite??

If you are using Ultimate Edition 3.4, id suggest you either upgrade to Ultimate Edition 3.5 or Ultimate Edition 3.4 lite(download and install) as they have newer packages.

Ultimate Edition 3.4 lite is new and has newer packages versus Ultimate Edition 3.5.....but the lite version has few packages installed.

Updating will update only your sources list, an Upgrade will change your system state. Do Not Upgrade. Also dont use update manager. Unless you have
the time to repair a broken system.
'sudo apt-get update' will not do anything...if you want new applications download and install them like firefox, chrome, kernels etc..

you can check md5 of disc if you have a flip-flop internet connection. Check How-to of forum--written clearly by Xanayoshi.
Checking it is no harm done. Recommended.

Thanks friend. I had already started a dl of 3.5 just to see. I have 3.4 full on. I do understand the difference between the update and upgrade now. :D

Well, I've come to the conclusion that I'm not getting good downloads as the md5sum was way off even though I have every last MB. The idea of bad downloads is new to me. I've heard torrents are reliable and just learned of the md5sum. I downloaded from the sourcefourge link. Do you have any recommends on how to get a good download? My disc that I burnt 3.4 (not lite) also does not match the given md5sum, but it's what I am running right now. I would really be thankful for some good advice. Thanks. :D

My md5sum for the Ultimate Edition 3.5 64 bit as resulted on my terminal is f4608d7bed54c76cfc2e96dec6845dc7 However, the sourceforge said it was supposed to be e92f9e4adcf2ae2cea51224004b084d1. I've also been trying the magnet links at the site you mentioned as I saw the post on another topic and get nada. I tried both Transmission and Deluge and both say "no incoming connection" and I have tried several, so maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it shows the file and says connected to 0 of 0 peers even if I let it sit for an hour. Maybe I'll try with FF cause I had an issue like this before using Transmission with Chrome as the magnet links didn't wanna recognize properly and always gave me the file I wasn't after.

Also as a note I was reading on a Fedora forum after a Google search and they stated that bad RAM and static through your IP can cause bad downloads. My sole source of internet is my 4G phone running hotspot to my PC. I have ran memtests on my RAM though, but the forum mentioned that 1 bad stick stayed hidden on a memtest while others were good being the sole cause of the persons bad downloads

No peers :(

No Go

3.4 is popular, I generally only post Linuxtracker for consistency...however there are several torrents of 3.4 out. Google Ultimate Edition 3.4 Torrent, and try to find one with peers/seeders.

If you tell me which one I should be able to help seed it.

If none are available, try to stick with the download and leave it alone, don't let computer sleep, don't surf the net, and don't download other things. I mess up more .iso from pure ADD.

I'm trying to do the 3.5 64 bit on linuxtracker site. And thanks for the advice about not surfing and such. I'm gonna set everything to go and maybe I'll get a seeder by the time I get home. ;)

I saw that too, but getting no action. I was kinda thinking the seeders marker was off or something. I've tried about 8 different ones just to make sure and nada
