Do you have the ubuntu restricted extras installed? Also and apologize for this(lack of keeping my records straight!) in the build with me section I have a reply to Pam for install of Wine that refers to the 32bit mono install libraries you will need in case DeVeDe DVD/Video Creator doesn't work properly! Hope this helps and if not sure someone here better versed than myself can help!!!! Will also try to get more organized! Loads of fun with projects am working on!!! Just hoping to help is all! Have been helped so great on here, have to give some of the knowledge back! These mods bust it for the best answers of any forum I have seen!!!!

try handbrake...

probably the most powerful tool

got me wondering how and why an mp4 file is not playing on Ultimate Edition!!!

all the codecs are installed and vlc by far pushes even further........check your mp4 file.....check format and content and get another one to see if it plays..

Maybe the video file is mis-labeled(not really an MP4).
It happens!

So are you saying that you are not able to change formats in general......sorry but im a little confused...
Give us an example screenshot.

install from terminal ...
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install handbrake

Witblits1970 please write your signature also.

must be an itunes file
The file might be DRM protected....it might not work with general codecs and players ...it might be locked to only to a proprietary player.
