Maybe it's the way I installed electric sheep. Which was to gedit, the X screen saver file and add the electric sheep line at the bottom of the file. There by displaying it in the list of available screen savers, and I just select it.
Perhaps that's causing it to run 2 versions of electric sheep. If there is another way to make electric sheep work in Ultimate Edition, than perhaps I should try it.

I did. it says its already installed, but nowhere to be found anywhere in any menu, or xscreensaver or gnome screensaver.. so to fix the issue I followed the instructions in this link.

Link: http://www.webupd8.org/2011/11/how-to-g ... -with.html

due to the fact that it was installed by default with the operating system, i have to also assume it is functional. But since I could not find it anywhere, i installed it following the instructions in the link. perhaps this caused the screensaver to run twice. 1. The way the OS has it set to function, and 2. the way I installed it. If this is the case it would explain the first picture in this post, and would cause the slow down. Or... I am way off the mark...
