Care to share how you upgraded the package and headers and maintained ATI driver functionality with FGLRX ?

utility called KernelCheck automatically downloads, compiles, and rebuilds video. Then installs new kernel, updates grub, etc. 2.6.37, 2.6.37.4 both work great. 2.6.38 wont load fglrx properly, still workin on that one.

so far success at every turn.

Making Ultimate Edition better in every case.

2.6.37.4 candera kernel is a lot faster and more complete then generic.

Turbo core on my hexa core is rocking.

I stumbled on it by accident, but that is how I usually find the good ones! I look at all sorts of utilities for Linux and Ubuntu/Debian in general, every once in a while I find a gem like this.
