All looks to install fine, I see no errors.

But once I restart , ccc will not launch and all 3d effects are off.

Running Ati first time run command works fine in terminal, but yields nothing.

Replacing the xorg files yields nothing.

Ati drivers installed via synaptic work, but dual screen isn't as good as it is with 10.12.

I hope that helps.

System in my dual 5870,s listed in sig.

I am telling u why ;) I have a card sitting here a wake up call right. One card I will have to wait until I get my 6 plug.

I have a 550 watt power supply, which is by the way $#!%. I do not care beyond that. Does not possess a 6 pin output. A heavy video card opens doors. I will fix it.

Should be released to the masses soon. Clearly theemahn has been quite busy . Hang in there.

For what it is worth, I and several other mod/admins have been testing 2.9 for over two days now. She's solid, fast and well worth the wait.

Better pre installed software pack then 2.8. Bit faster then 2.8 as well. Only things wrong we have seen with Ultimate Edition 2.9 is little cosmetic fixes needed in the setup process.

Will it have VLC working out of the box?

Let me know if you need another opinion, in testing. My algorithm measures times needed for installation, booting, shut down, browser start up, and most importantly, time to receive streaming audio from each of three different, non-proprietary formats, ogg, aac+, and mp3. I have tested some fifty Linux distros, during the past year, on a dozen different computers in house, and would be glad to provide feedback to you, on the forum, or by email, as you prefer.

Ultimate Edition Forum newbie here, just want to say THANKS to all mods/admins/developers for their admirable effort towards this unparalleled Linux distro. Just installed 2.9 x64 today and must say I am impressed by the aforementioned speed increase and solid performance. Cheers. :D

Newbie here also :) Downloaded 2.9 , installed it with a fear of being slow but found the opposite. Quick and snappy, looks great, what more would do you want? I'm usually a Linux Mint user but this has everything but the kitchen sink :) It's my main O/S now and i'm recommending it to family and friends.
Cheers, efbe.
