Hey, not sure exactly where I should post, but here goes.
I DLed Ubuntu Ultimate Gamers Edition 1.4 about a month ago, and it's insane, it's amazing, it's...it's...well, breath-taking . Then I found out that 1.4 wasn't the latest version, so I've been trying to figure out how to upgrade/install all the new stuff that's been added since 1.4, as well as upgrade to Ubuntu 7.10. I ran the Upgrade program from the desktop, but I have no idea what all that upgraded (was it only 1.4 stuff? or does that access and DL all the latest stuff for Ubuntu Ultimate Gamers Edition?), when running it, it listed three different distro options, Ubuntu Ultimate Gamers Edition, UU, and Custom; I wasn't sure which to run, so I ran the Ubuntu Ultimate Gamers Edition and it DLed and installed a bunch of games and whatnot. After doing that, and not being sure if I'd gotten just 1.4 upgrades, or all the latest ones, I moved on to upgrade Ubuntu from 7.04 to 7.10. I first ran the update manager and got all the updates it had, and then I clicked the Upgrade To 7.10 button, but after it checks the repo and whatnot, an error pops up and doesn't let me continue, the message reads:
http://uu.enarel.eu/dists/feisty/all/bi ... ackages.gz: 404 Not Found
So I guess my questions are as follows:
1. Is the "Gamers Edition" just all the games that come with it, plus the upgrade script on the desktop? And does it upgrade to the latest games in the repo, or just for 1.4?
2. When running the upgrade script, what are the differences between the three "distro upgrade" options?
3. Is there anyway to get around that error when upgrading to 7.10, so that I can upgrade to Gusty?
EDIT: I'm DLing the iso for Ubuntu 7.10, is it safe/will it work to upgrade Ubuntu Ultimate Gamers Edition from Feisty to Gusty using a disk for the standard 7.10?
Thanks! .
