the questions i have is easy but hard to manage...

1) can VMware and Vbox, can work on 3D gaming without using any type of wine?
2) can can we play High End gaming such as in "BF3, BF4, COD, and any other new gaming, i would belive in GTA 5 will be out soon?"
3) can linux be fast but unlocked? where it can not use CPU and Ram to much making it 12mb ram, and 0% cpu for loading and faster app's opening?

4) i have ROG G75vw (
Code: Select all
http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/G75VW/
) < please take a look
is there a Bug fix for All ROG laptops for Brightness + FN Hot Keys for it... such as in FN +F5 + F6

i have fix the slider only but still having issue on FN hot keys...

5) can unbuntu or any other linux can it really take over MS? windows and it powers if some one made linux into Gaming such as in Steam, and Orgin from EA gaming......

i hope you won't get mad due to alot of question's i just need help and Ubuntu main site suck's for IRC help so why even go back to there member's all they do is tell you come back in 3 days to get helped on, then noting happens after...

i'm getting this error?

Code: Select all
Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

is there a way to upgrade from 13.04 to 14.04 or 13.10?

Hello and welcome to Ultimate Edition forum thecrowlife.

Vmware and Vbox are useless for gaming.

Install playonlinux.
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install playonlinux

It will install wine automatically.

BF3/COD should work with playonlinux. BF4 will require sometime. GTA5... I dont know??..maybe in future.

Linux is not magic. You cant unlock anything 'linux'. CPU is always used for any task. RAM is not an issue with your laptop but linux does use less amount versus windows.Today mostly RAM usage depends on how you use and what you do with software.

The ASUS ROG laptop is not a mainstream laptop. ROG stuff is usually for windows only(AFAIK). What will work on linux...

CPU
Graphics
Chipset
sound
SSD/HDD
PCie network
Wifi
Blu-ray writer
card reader
web cam
Bluetooth.

Steam is under heavy development and should be ready by next year. Linux is not about promises or false promises when things are ready they will be usable by everyone.

Origin from EA... no official support yet. EA and linux....BIG JOKE.
BUT....
