Change Primary Desktop to Mate Ultimate Edition 3.4.2

Postby Zaileion » Fri Nov 29, 2013 10:57 pm

I noticed, after installing Mate-core and dependences, that there was a mate-desktop-gnome which removes all gnome "stuff" and seems to replace it with cinnamon. I also noticed that these cinnamon files are what is used in Ultimate Edition 3.5.2 if i wanted to stay with 3.4.2 but wanted to continue to use Mate as my primary desktop should i sue the existing mate-core desktop or should i install the mate-desktop-gnome?

After re-reading my above question a simpler wording would be; whats the difference between mate-core and mate-desktop-gnome?
