Shutdown button drop down menu in panel[SOLVED]

Postby Klaatu2 » Wed Dec 21, 2011 12:36 pm

All-

I accidentally deleted my panel yesterday. I have since successfully rebuilt it with the defaults. Problem is, the shutdown button drop down menu has reverted to the old default mode. Any one know of a way to rebuild it to the one that was part of the original install? It had the system settings option in the dropdown menu; I'd like to have that back if anyone can help. Thanks for you time.

right click on the bar, go to add to panel, and scroll down until you find the "Shut Down" button and add it. Incidently you may find some cool stuff you want to add as well there!

I tried that and it only shows the four default actions from the drop down: Shutdown, restart, hibernate, suspend. The original one had a number for fancy actions including the system settings link. That's what I'm trying to relocate now.

Can you expound on this a little bit? Is that a specific file? I did a search and found about eleventy billion applet files. If you can be a little more specific, that would be great. Thanks.

No problem. Like billhedrick said right click on the panel, click add to panel. Scroll down to indicator applet session and add that. That should be it. Let us know if it works.

That works! I had tried it before, but didn't know what the indicator applet was. Thanks so much for your help. Case closed!
