hello newbie here at ubuntu 10.10 and want to install steam along with dungeon defenders on my ubuntu!
steam installs correctly,it works very good,i download the game that i want from my library,but i can not play them cause there is a pop window to install microsoft .net framework 3.5
the problem is that it cannot be installed as it stops at certain points saying there is a wine deffisiency...anyone knows something?

I don't use wine a lot but if you do a search on this forum you should find a HOW TO thread to get Wine set up to play games.

still i can not find how to install the .net framework without getting the deffisiency message

Installation by using 'winetricks' script

Winetricks will take care of all needed installation prerequisites and work around some problems.­

Use the following winetricks verb to automatically download and install .NET 3.5 Framework:

i have had my fair share of getting games working is all

hmmm... will try that to install steam. I am trying to load it in my 2.6.1 Box and Play on Linux kinda chokes on it.

i used all the commands and my pc made it to .net 3.0 ...that was cool,still my games at steam require 3.5...such a mess...when i enter the cmds above it installs all .net up to 3.0 and 3.5 fails...is it some fail of my pc?

installing... so far only wants to install framework 2.0, getting the same errors as above

well, doesn't seem to recognize the Flash player. I installed the latest version in wine and restarted steam, still no live.
