New guy - Can someone help me find this wallpaper?

Postby Ossas » Fri Aug 19, 2011 9:46 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm 2 weeks into Linux, and I have to say Ultimate Edition is without a doubt the best OS I have ever experienced! This is absolutely amazing! It's so fast! My computer was never this fast with Windows, even when it was brand new lol! The eye candy is absolutely amazing! I finally feel like I'm getting everything out of my computer. Thank you so much and kudos to Thee Mahn and everyone else involved. I had no idea an OS could be this amazing! I have no reason to go back to Windows!

That being said, I was wondering if someone could help me find the wallpaper I attached to this message that I saw on Texas MIke's website. Like I said, I am very new to Ultimate Edition and Linux, so I'm not sure if it comes with the build or not. I looked in System>preferences>appearance>background and did not see it there. I also checked out user/shared/compiz and did not see it there either. I'm probably just not looking in the right spot, but I would certainly appreciate any help I can get. Thank you so much, I am truely amazed!

Hi, Ossas,
this reply is a bit late perhaps but first of all welcome to Ultimate Edition.
You got the walllpaper O.K. thanks to Meister but it is actually included in the build. You were actually looking in the wrong place. Check this out and you'll find some other cool options if you like - filesystem/usr(not user)/share/wallpapers.You'll find some nice eye-candy if you haven't found it already. There's also one for emoticons somewhere that I happened to stumble across,(though for the life of me I can't remember where).
Anyway, don't be afraid to have a nosy-you can't do much harm just opening folders and having a look. Don't be afraid of Linux, it's fun and friendly, and if you aren't playing around in ROOT you can't really do much harm. There's always someone to help you out if you have a problem.
If you want to check out some more eye-candy, register with OZ Unity Forum and Israeli Remix Team, as mmemesantos and Admin-amir regularly post some really cool wallpapers
There are other goodies you will find if you do a bit of exploring. Compiz isn't the only way to change eye-candy and system-sounds. Have fun! :D
All that I am or seem is but a dream within a dream.

Thanks Billie! You were right. I found that wallpaper in filesystem/usr/share/wallpapers. I appreciate the help and I'll check out the OZ forum.
