Ripped DVD audio distortion

The Ultimate Guide for the rest of us

Ripped DVD audio distortion

Postby snydley100 » Tue Aug 02, 2011 3:55 pm

I'm using dvd::rip to rip the audio from some concert DVDs into wav files and Audacity to cut the wavs into the individual songs and normalize them. When I do this under Ultimate Edition 2.9 the wav file from dvd::rip is distorted, not real bad but bad enough that I don't want to use it. When I do this under Ubuntu 11.04 using the same programs the sound is clear as a bell.
I've looked under the preferences for dvd::rip and I can't find where there's any adjustment to fix this, I think maybe it might be one of it's dependencies that's not set up correctly, but I haven't a clue how to go about digging to find which one and what to do to correct it.
Does anyone know what might be wrong? I'd really like to keep using Ultimate Edition and not Ubuntu 11.04 to do my DVD ripping, but under the circumstances I can't use it 'till I can fix it.
Thanks,
Snyde

And your solution to my problem is??

I'd love to try 3.0 but I have to say I tried finding the iso and couldn't. Where's it hiding?
In the end, I don't care what flavor of Linux I use, ( though I like and have been using U.E since 2.8), I just want my programs and hardware to work right!

Any idea on how to fix my problem?

sadly, not tried what your doing.

Lot of video coding etc.

But not sound extraction. Other then from a CD to library.

Lot of DVD rip tools wonder if another might work ?
