May be the way to go...how hard is it to set up vbox...I'm pulling my hair out trying to get my sound to work in Ultimate Edition 2.6.1 on my desk top...It plays fine when I'm in Sound Preference (SP)...Every time I close the SP window...the sound goes off...when I reopen the SP window
it comes back on...Not much chance of me setting up Vbox so I can use itunes for my iphone's...I love Ultimate Edition for many reasons...but the learning curve may be to much for an old dog like me (63)...Thanks

humm tell me your desktop specs so I can help fit you into the RIGHT distro / build.
Vbox = supper easy to setup.

I have a Dell Optiplex GX280 3.2 with 1.5 memory ... GeForce 7300 SE/7200 GS Graphics...SBO 400 Audigy 2 sound card...the above problem I am having with my sound seem to be Amarok...it works fine in rhythmbox...If you need to know
anything more...Please let me know.

Ultimate Edition 2.6.1 was the right choice for that build.

well, maybe I am just old fashioned, but I swear by banshee, it does what I need it to and is pretty intuitive, but of course YMMV

I hope that because I was not able to find Clementine in Applications/sound & video or synaptic isn't a window to what ahead
getting this VBox working on this lap top...I assume you wanted me to find Clementine ???

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install clementine

ok...I installed clementine...what...does Vbox use this player by default or it just works better in it???

no it is for linux not vbox.
vbox is to setup and use a virtual OS.

OK...nevertheless,I have clementine working on my desk top...Sorry, it was a dumb question...I'm sorry I mentioned my sound
issue on my desk top...the issue at hand is the laptop and the dual raid hard drives...any other issues I may come across...I'll post in another thread after we get done with the laptop...OK
