I don't see any type of clip board but i do have an icon shaped like a globe. in the taskbar.....order of sequence is Application----places----system-----icon

well under network connections i can hit edit on that but nothing shows at all under wired or wireless

Network is unreachable

Please understand i have not had any type of internet connection at all on that computer with Ultimate Edition....wired or wireless nothing seems to be working at all

ok i did the 'auto eth0' and it states that "No command 'auto' found, did you mean:Command 'unto' from package 'uucp'

Ok so I show this to be a 5.5 year old dell laptop.

Curious

Have you tried a LTS based distro on it yet ?

Like ultimate edition 2.6.1 or 2.7 or oz unity 1.0 or oz unity redux64 ?

I am a very Firm believer there is a distro for all. Giving the shear age of this laptop, I think your better of with a long term support release.
