Ultimate Edition 2.9 or 2.8?

Postby Billie Cowie » Wed Jun 01, 2011 6:20 am

Hi,I noticed on my info panel at the side of my Mandelbulber query I am listed as using U.E.2.8 yet the disc I have is 2.9 on the wallet. Is this an admin error on your part or do I really have another version than the one I ordered? I didn't download but ordered a disc from Linux.cd.org as being on a usb dongle it would have taken forever to download. :?

The profile indicator is kinda hosed. It doesn't really indicate which version you are using there. If you want to let folks know, put it in your signature.

Hello, the only way you can tell what version you might have is by the default startup splash screen, what ever number shows up is what you have. Here is an example of the logo for 2.8 used as a wallpaper in the appearance preference's.

Both are good but 2.9 is more advanced and user friendly. Liked it's working.
