i realy need help :(

i am a windows user but always wanted to use linux so my friend told me about ultimate gamere edition i downloaded it and installed it and could install windows games on it like need for speed shift 2 but couldnt run it because my display driver was not installed it was a gtx465 leadtek nvidea so i did a bit of reading figured out i can upgrade to ultimate 2.9 so i did now my display card is installed but i cant install windows games any help. please email or inbox me if u know what i can do

ultimate gamers edition is different from Ultimate edition. They are both different in the software they have.
the driver might need command line installation but it should get installed with mouse clicks.
Mine is ati and works great.

You should reinstall Ultimate Edition 2.9, not upgrade. NVIDIA drivers install pretty straightforwardly in Ultimate Edition, you should get a pop-up offering to install the third party driver. I haven't used ultimate gamers edition so I can't tell you about that.

ok but i am using ultimate 2.9 now. wich one of the 2 will i be able to play games like crysis2 because on 2.9 it tells me i cant install it?, and can u give me a link to show me how to intall my display card on gamers edition, i am realy a noob with linux o and i didnt upgrade to 2.9 i did a clean install

Try PlayonLinux, which should be in your games folder under applications.
When you launch it, it will load updates to PlayOnLinux, when that is done
click on the install tab then games, and find Crysis... on my system I found Crysis 2 demo,
yours may differ.

The other method you might try is to put the crysis install disk in and right click on the installer
and run it under the Windows Loader option. Doing this from memroy as I haven't installed a windows app for awhile

double click the nvidia driver once youve downloaded. a dialog box will open up. say run and follow the steps to install the driver and not distribution specific. After the driver is installed reboot.

If you were not able to install the driver then follow these steps
open your terminal and go to the path where your driver is -- it should be in Downloads--
#cd /home/XXXX/Downloads
#ls ( you should see your driver here)
(Now if your driver is in a compressed form extract it with archive manager -- this is a graphical tool.)
#bash <your driver name> press enter
your installation should start and follow the steps

Either way take your mouse go to system --- adminstration --- additional drivers -- your proprietary drivers will show up ---- apply install it


I Doubt crysis 2 will run on linux but if someone has done it then youre in luck
Use PlayOnLinux as mentioned above

If that doesnt work then copy your crysis 2 directory from your dvd disk into your wine folder---Applications ---wine--- Browse c: drive
copy it here
then scroll to whereever your crysis 2.exe file is then double click--- follow the steps ......
