LOL I knew that it was not installed by default but I thought that they might be important (for like reading DVD's) but can I say WOW. this is one heavy distribution. o.o

No not needed for reading DVD,s.

Use

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install libdvdread4

sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh


for legal DVD codecs.

Heavy ? Well ya all the packages are already installed and all jiving together.

yeah I gathered. I am not looking forward to having to remove all those packages though. btw where can I find a list of the packages to remove to get rid of most of these DE's?

If ya didn't want all the packages, then use standard Ubuntu 10.10 and add what you want. <BREW>

Ubuntu natty 11.04 final will be out tomorrow. Took me 6 hours about to install all apps and eye candy to match Ultimate Edition offerings.

Then you can just install what you use. I find Ultimate Edition faster and easier for business client needs.

ehhh I would rather use linux mint. I will just go back to my search. I figured Ultimate Edition would be something to try.
