Ubuntu visual effects

i have installed Ultimate edition 2.2 on my DEll Studio laptop and when i log in to the synaptic package manager i noticed the all packages regarding the Ati drivers are already installed but when i try to enable the Visual effects the system refuses with the cant enable special effects message so How can i enable these effects .... HELP please !!

Hello ubuntu@@xx and welcome to the U.E Forum.
That is correct,that happens because you did not Enable the hardware first.
Go to =>System=>Administration=>Hardware Driver=>Down right you have the place
to Enable the 3D for the Video card.
After Enable wait for the Driver to be set for you,and when the process is Done Restart your machine.
Then when you back to your Desktop you can use the Affects.
