Hi all
I finally installed Ultimate 2.3 on a 20GB partition,then I upgraded to linux kernel 2.6.30-020630-generic,when I rebooted I noticed that I got no more of the sound(when booting up,or opening closing applications) can someone please explain what to do?
Also there seem to be an issue with my alfa awus036h usb wireless with rtl 8187l chipset,
often it disconnects.
Any help is appreciated

Hello rick_161z and welcome to the U.E Forum.
yes there is problem with the kernel,in few different places.
when I was working on the Intel issue with trying to get the card to work,
the I use few tools to solve this issue.
to make it short it will not work for you with this kernel.
you can see my post in the process and understand some of the problems with the kernel.

now you can see in 2.3 forum the how to roll back your kernel.
to solve the installation of the new kernel that you have install 2.6.30.x.x
just browse in the Video card to find the solution for the un install /roll back the kernel.

Hi Amir
thanks for the quick reply,the fix worked but all I did is uninstall the newer kernel since I had not yet
activated my Nvidia drivers(unreliable Internet).
I was wondering if you could help me choose a boot manager,there are many out there,I only use
Windows xp and now Ultimate Edition.

First of all I'm Happy you got it to be fixed for you.
And if to be Direct and honest with you,
I will prefer not to mess at this time with the boot menu at this stage of time.
Why?
you have the new U.E ( 2.4 ) on the 9th next month release so way to mess with it now,
the better solution is to wait to the new Distro of the U.E and then If I'm right
you will have grub 2 .
so you will have much more time to play with the boot manager like boom or others.
