You asked a good question.
1) Download Ultimate Edition, check the MD5sum, Burn to DVD at x4 speed or slower.
2) Boot from the Ultimate Edition DVD,
Let it load completely,
Open Partition Editor System/Administration/Partition Editor
Shrink the primary partition to leave room for Ultimate Edition
Hit the Apply button
when that's done
Create a 2 or 3Gb /swap partition at the end of the drive
Format it ext3
Leave the section for Ultimate Edition Unallocated
Hit the Apply button
When it's complete, close Partition Editor
Hit the Install Icon and follow the steps
When it gets to the Partition section
Select Guided, use unallocated space
Let it finish the installation.
Grub (Grand Unified Bootloader) will detect your Windows OS and give you the option of which OS you want to use, each time you boot up.
You are now duel booting!
***Note***
A few things to remember...
To optimize your Ultimate Edition experience, do your install in this order.
1) Install Ultimate Edition
2) After the install is complete, Hit the Upgrade Icon and babysit the process.
3) Only after the Upgrade process is complete, install your video drivers with Envy or EnvyNG
